It’s official—I’m thrilled to announce the launch of the website, anthology series, and community, a vision I've held close to my heart for nearly a decade. Over the years, as my other company flourished, this initiative experienced many delays. However, in the past year, everything finally came together, almost like magic, when I realized I was missing a few key voices—remarkable women whose stories truly belonged in this book.
Today, I’m both excited and a little nervous to introduce this site’s very first blog post. For anyone who has worked tirelessly to bring an idea to life, you might understand the mix of emotions I’m feeling right now. Every time we share our ideas with the world, we embrace both hope and vulnerability, never fully knowing where the journey will lead. Yet, I firmly believe that this community and the anthology series are long overdue.
Why This Community and Book Series Matter
As a society, we are often far too hard on ourselves and, sadly, on others. I have a big vision for this platform, which includes providing a safe and supportive space for anyone who needs it—a space where you can share your story and hear others' stories, normalizing your own experiences in the process. After all, every body and every conversation about our bodies is unique.
We each come from different internal dialogues, and our needs can vary greatly.
The way food, movement, and health strategies work for one person may not be effective for another, and that’s okay.
My goal is to empower you with the knowledge and ideas to help you discover what works best for you and your unique body, DNA, and health history.
What Inspired This Initiative
Two significant experiences have driven me to bring this initiative to life:
My Personal Journey with Body Image and Weight
My journey with my body, weight, and mindset has been a long and complex one. As a young girl, I began gaining weight around ages 6 to 8, and by the time I graduated high school, I weighed about 287 pounds. Growing up obese was incredibly challenging, filled with unkind words and actions from others that left lasting scars. In my early twenties, I lost about 160 pounds, but even years later, well into my thirties, I still saw the “fat” girl in the mirror.
Even today, at 47, with no thyroid post-cancer and in the midst of hormonal changes, the challenge continues at times, but how I manage the inner stories is SO much easier and different than before. Staying ahead of the mind and emotions is crucial for a happy, healthy life. I understand deeply the pain this journey can bring, and I am committed to supporting others through their struggles, offering compassion, empathy, and a listening ear.
The Stories of My Clients and Their Courageous Battles
The second and perhaps my most significant motivation comes from every single person I have worked with over the years. The stories I have heard—of the pain, the struggles, and the heartache surrounding body image—have touched me to my core. I have witnessed countless tears shed over the hurt inflicted by others and the self-inflicted wounds from internal battles.
I believe that every person deserves to have someone in their corner—someone to lift them when they are down, hold them accountable, and normalize what they are feeling. This platform is designed to do just that, creating a supportive, safe, and non-judgmental space for all.
Join Me on This New Journey
This initiative is more than just a website, community, or anthology series; it’s a movement to change the narrative around body image, self-love, and acceptance. It’s about embracing our unique stories and finding strength in our shared experiences. I invite you to join me on this journey—to share your story, to listen, to learn, and to grow.
Together, we can create a community that supports, uplifts and inspires.
